A local team that knows Shellharbour's roofs
Shellharbour Roofers is a local roofing team covering the whole City of Shellharbour — the historic coastal village, the suburbs around Lake Illawarra, and the fast-growing estates on the escarpment side. We're not a Sydney crew that drives down the M1 for a job and disappears. We know this area's roofs because we work on them every week.
That local knowledge matters here more than most places, because Shellharbour puts two very different pressures on a roof. On the seaward side, salt air off the Pacific corrodes flashing, fasteners and guttering. On the lake side, humidity off Lake Illawarra feeds moss and the foreshore gums clog gutters. We understand both, and we specify materials and repairs to suit the exposure of your particular home.
Two roofing worlds, one local team
We work across the full spread of Shellharbour housing:
- Older lakeside and coastal homes — the 1950s–1980s fibro-and-tile and brick-and-tile stock in Warilla, Oak Flats, Mount Warrigal and Barrack Heights, where restoration, repointing and careful handling of older fibro-era roofs is the everyday work.
- New-estate Colorbond builds — the modern metal roofs across Shell Cove's Waterfront, Calderwood Valley, Tullimbar and Flinders, where inspections, warranty checks and minor repairs keep good roofs good.
What you can count on
- Free, no-obligation inspections — we look at your roof and quote in writing before you spend anything.
- Licensed and insured — work is carried out by licensed contractors holding current NSW Fair Trading registration and full public liability insurance.
- Workmanship warranty — every completed job is backed by a written workmanship warranty.
- Honest advice — if a repair will do, we won't sell you a restoration; if a roof is past saving, we'll say so.
- A tidy finish — we clean up the site and clear your gutters before we leave.
Honest about older roofs
Some of Shellharbour's oldest homes have asbestos-cement roofing from before the late 1980s. We don't disturb, drill or pressure-clean that material — it needs a licensed assessor, and Shellharbour City Council runs its own disposal process for the LGA. Where we suspect it, we'll tell you and point you to the right next step rather than take a risk with your health or ours.
Ready when you are
Whether you've got a leak, an ageing roof, storm damage or a new home you want checked over, we'll come to you anywhere in the Shellharbour area for a free inspection.
